Council Tax and Business Rates
Access all your Council Tax / Business Rates bills and notices digitally
Access your full Council Tax / Business Rates account through your My Powys Account at any time. You will receive an email when new bills or notices are available to view online and you will no longer receive these through the post.
If there is a Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction claim reference associated with the name on your Council Tax account, you will also be able to view your Benefits account summary and documents online at any time.
How to opt-in
- Register for My Account
Already have a website account? Login to My Account here - In My Account, click to update your information in your Profile and add your name and address (make sure they are the same as they appear on your latest bill)
- In My Account, under Council Tax or Business Rates, click to 'Sign Up' then enter your council tax / business rates reference number(s)
- Tick the box to opt-in for paperless billing
- You will no longer receive paper bills or notices in the post. You will receive an email to notify you when a new bill or notice has been issued.
- To change your preferences at any time, in My Account, click on 'Manage my council tax' or 'Manage my business rates'.
How to access your full Council Tax / Business Rates account at any time
- Log into your account at www.powys.gov.uk/myaccount.
- Under Council Tax or Business Rates, you will see your current account balance. Click 'View' to see your full account for the current year. Previous years are available - just click on the year
- To view and download your bills and notices, click on 'Bills and Notices'.
Historic notices are also available. These are flagged as 'Copy' and any new notices are flagged as 'New'. When you have read a new notice, it will be flagged as 'Viewed' - To change your preferences at any time, in My Account, click on 'Manage my council tax' or 'Manage my business rates'.
Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction
If you have a Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction benefit claim reference associated with your name on your Council Tax account, you can also view your Benefits Account summary and documents online at any time. Click 'View' under the Benefits section.
