Property purchases

The Housing Development Team begins its property purchase scheme, which aims to increase the availability of affordable housing for social rent in Powys.

The Housing Development Team are focusing primarily on acquiring homes previously sold under the Right to Buy, as they are already situated in existing council housing estates.

This scheme is especially important to increase affordable housing provision in areas of Powys where phosphate levels in the rivers currently affect our ability to develop new-build council homes for social rent.
