Welcome message

Welcome

Thank you for taking the opportunity to find out more about working in Adult Services for Powys County Council.

We believe that everyone who contacts Adult Services seeking support is unique, with strengths as well as needs. We strive to support people to live the best life they can by focussing on what matters.

This vision is aligned with our Joint Health and Care strategy for Powys which is all about promoting independence and self-care wherever possible through a strengths based approach. This approach runs through all we do. It makes sense to our residents and, more often than not, it helps us as a service to deliver care and support in a cost-efficient way.

Powys is a rural authority, with a landmass covering 25% of Wales. Therefore, innovation , is not a nice to have, but an essential component to how we deliver sustainable care and support.  We're committed to embracing digital in helping us to work and deliver, care and support and we're proud of our track record in promoting technology enabled care, as well as helping residents to utilise online information and advice.

Everything we do, we do in partnership, and we're proud of the work we co-develop alongside Health and Third Sector colleagues, not to mention our various citizen involvement groups who help us to design our services.

Our New Ways of Working Programme has created more flexible approaches to how and where we work and we're confident that we can offer you a job that will fit in around your other commitments.

Powys is a great place to live and work where you'll find a group of committed staff and a leadership team who all strive to do the best for our residents, day in day out.

If you understand the transformational potential of Adult Services and want to play a part in improving the lives of Powys residents, please read on!
