Business Rates: Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Rates Relief 2022 / 2023

Welsh Government is providing funding to support eligible businesses in Powys with a Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Rates Relief scheme for April 2022 to March 2023.

This Relief scheme is now closed          

The scheme will offer eligible occupied businesses a discount of 50% on the business rates bill for a property. The scheme will apply to all eligible ratepayers with a relief cap for all your business properties up to a £110.000.

The business must be in the retail, leisure, hospitality or tourism sectors, for example shops, pubs and restaurants, gyms, performance venues and hotels

To qualify for the relief:

  • the business property should be wholly or mainly used for the qualifying purposes
  • your main trade should be to the public
  • your property should be open and accessible to visiting members of the public

If you have more than one property for your business across Wales, then you are only able to apply for all your business properties up to £110,000 relief across them all.
