Well-being in Powys
Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act
The Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 has created a Public Services Board (PSB) for each local authority area in Wales to ensure that public bodies work together to create a better future for the people of Wales.
The purpose of PSB is to improve the economic, social, environmental and cultural well-being of the area by strengthening joint working across all public services in Wales.
The statutory members which make up the Powys Public Service Board are:
- Powys County Council
- Powys Teaching Health Board
- Mid and West Wales Fire Service
- Natural Resources Wales
The invited participants are:
- PAVO
- Dyfed Powys Police
- Police and Crime Commissioners
- Welsh Government
- Probation Service
- Bannau Brycheiniog National Park
We are required by the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 to prepare a local Well-being plan setting out how we will improve the well-being of our communities, against seven national goals.
Before we can set out a plan, we must understand the pressures that our communities are facing. To understand this, we have assessed well-being across communities in Powys. This Well-being assessment includes a range of data, evidence, and research, providing a comprehensive picture of the well-being of local people and communities now and how well-being could be influenced in the future.
