Volunteer to maintain public rights of way
There are over 200 volunteers working with us across Powys.
These volunteers play a vital role in maintaining the county's public rights of way. Volunteers carry out a range of tasks including repairing and helping us to install footbridges, vegetation clearance, installing gates, path surveys and waymarking. We also work with volunteers to look after our greenspaces, for example the Warden at Presteigne and some of our long-distance Trails.
We are working with community volunteer groups to develop and deliver countryside access projects as part of our annual work plan; for more information please see Improvement Plan
Our countryside volunteers are registered, trained and insured with the Council. For more information about how to become a volunteer, please contact us on rights.of.way@powys.gov.uk
