Health & Social Care QCF
A new generation of vocational qualifications for social care have been launched to better meet the needs of employers across the UK.
The new qualifications follow a two-year reform programme of all vocational qualifications in Wales, England and Northern Ireland. The Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) is a new way for creating and accrediting qualifications. It is designed to make work-based learning simpler to understand and use, more accessible to a wider range of learners, and more relevant to learners' and employers' needs.
They are achieved through assessment and training. Assessment is normally through on-the-job observation and questioning.
Candidates produce evidence to prove they have the competence to meet the standards. Assessors sign off units when the candidates are ready.
