Dealing with anti-social behaviour - Council Tenants

Anti-Social Behaviour is behaviour that causes - or is likely to cause - harassment, alarm or distress to anyone who doesn't live with you, or behaviour that causes a nuisance or annoyance that affects a landlord's ability to manage their property.

Our approach to Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB)

We take all complaints about anti-social behaviour seriously and carry out investigations with sensitivity. We'll encourage you to explain your concerns, will always listen to all information, and will keep you informed of developments.

We work with the agencies that form the Powys Community Safety Partnership to prevent, investigate and take action against the perpetrators of Anti-Social Behaviour.

Things we do when Anti-Social Behaviour is reported include:

  • Warning letters
  • Warning visits
  • Injunctions
  • Providing support to either 'victim' or 'perpetrator' (or both)
  • Community Mediation
  • Referral to other enforcement agency (e,g. Police, Environmental Health etc)
  • Acceptable Behaviour Contracts
  • Anti-Social Behaviour Orders
  • Eviction

Different problems call for different solutions. We make an action plan for each case, and each action plan will be agreed with the victim.

Report anti-social behaviour

If you're affected by anti-social behaviour, you can report your concerns to any of our Housing Offices and get advice and support.

All reports are logged on a database and the information is used for monitoring purposes.
