Powys Housing Services is the place to come to when you really want to know how to build council houses

In June 2024, the Powys County Council Housing Development team have received a really positive outcome from the Welsh Government's housing development Scrutiny Panel where they accepted and approved the Councils Standard House Type designs. Welsh government has acknowledged the investment and commitment the Housing Development team given to this project.

In June 2024, the Housing Leadership Cymru meeting, of Heads of Housing and other senior housing colleagues across Wales, Powys County Council was publicly cited by WG's Director of Housing and Regeneration (Emma Williams) along with Cardiff as the lodestar for new build council housing for others to emulate.
