Commercial Officer (Career Graded)

  • Commercial Officer (Career Graded)
  • 1st year apprentice: 85% of the normal salary for the position, based on the bottom point of the job evaluated scale, subject to real Living Wage provisions; - £23,632
  • 2nd year apprentice: 95% of the normal salary for the position, based on the bottom point of the job evaluated scale, subject real Living Wage provisions; - £26,412
  • On achieving the qualification, you will be paid on a pay scale currently ranging between £27,803 to £29,777 (Grade 7, SCP15 -19).

This is a great opportunity to begin a career in public sector procurement. The postholder will be supported to build skills and experience working within an award-winning Commercial Services Team at Powys County Council.

We're looking for a tenacious and dedicated individual who is willing to learn and apply commercial expertise and develop effective relationships.

The postholder will support senior colleagues in delivering procurement tender projects for goods, works and services. As well as leading on non-complex tender projects and undertaking mini-competitions under established frameworks.

This is a 2-year career graded training programme where you will be supported to gain valuable experience and also undertake training to secure full Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply membership.

At the end of the training programme you will be appointed (subject to performance) to a full Commercial Officer.
