Fifth Call for Applications

The fifth opportunity to submit applications for funding opened on Tuesday 6 February 2024 and closed at 23:59 on Sunday 3 March 2024.
The fifth call with target the following interventions and priority area:
1) People and Skills
- Intervention W37: Interventions to increase levels of digital inclusion, with a focus on essential digital skills, communicating the benefits of getting (safely) online, and in-community support to provide users with the confidence and trust to stay online.
- Intervention W41: Retraining and upskilling support for those in high carbon sectors, with a particular focus on transitioning to green, and Industry 4.0 and 5.0 jobs.
- Intervention W43: Funding to support engagement and softer skills development for young people, with regard to the work of Careers Wales/Working Wales.

Important Information
- A project start date of no earlier than the 1 April 2024 will be accepted.
- The timescale for delivery of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) is short; in practice, all projects will need to be completed and final claims submitted by 31 December 2024, to allow time for closure of the programme.
- The total uncommitted funds available within this priority area for 24/25 is within the region of £390,000. Projects can submit applications for any amount up to and including £390,000. This will be a competitive process and success will be dependent on the number of applications received and their values.
- If your budgetary requirements are likely to fall short of £50,000 due to the short delivery period remaining of 2024-25, please discuss your requirements with the Powys Local Delivery Team (ukspf@powys.gov.uk) prior to submitting your application.
- Only revenue funding can be applied for within this open call.
- Funding will be paid retrospectively following receipt of an audited and approved claim.
- Operating in compliance with the new UK subsidy control regime which began on 4 January 2023, will be a key requirement for any project. All applicants should familiarise themselves with the requirements of the regime: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/subsidy-control-regime
- Applicants will be required to detail how the proposed activity will align and support other local, regional or national strategies. Please see page 29 of the Mid Wales Investment Plan for examples.
- In submitting an application, you will authorise the local authority/authorities to make the necessary enquiries to check any information that is required for the administration of the UKSPF programme.
- There is a one stage application process. Applications will be accepted from 06/02/2024 until 23:59 on 03/03/2024. Completed applications will be appraised by the Powys Local Delivery Team and the Powys Shared Prosperity Fund Local Partnership.
