This consultation ended on the 1 March 2024 and is now closed.

Powys County Council have determined the admissions arrangements for 2025-26, following the consultation which ran from 29 January 2024 until the 1 March 2024.
Following careful consideration of the comments received, the following amendments will be made:
Reintegrate the hamlet of Cwmdu into the Llangynidr CP School catchment area
Amend the Ysgol Pennant catchment area to include Ddôl Cownwy

In addition, the use of the word 'catchment' has been regularised in the over subscription criteria.
Should you wish to object to the determination of the admission arrangements for 2025-26 then you must do so in writing to the Welsh Ministers within six weeks of the publication of this notice, which is 25 April 2024. Further information regarding this process can be found on page 9 of the Schools Admissions Code 005/2013 which can be accessed via the following link: https://gov.wales/school-admissions-code

The consultation also includes the catchment maps, which were endorsed by the council's Cabinet in 2023. These maps are used by the council when allocating places to a school which is oversubscribed. The council will also use these maps when considering applications under the home to school transport policy.

Primary catchments: The catchment maps are based on nearest primary school with some adjustments made to reflect local circumstances such as mountains or rivers.

Secondary catchments: Secondary catchments are based on the collective catchments of group of primary schools
